The Mayor of the City Council of Alhama, Fernando Alfonso Morales Ceron, Councillor for Tourism and Carmen Maria Rodriguez, received this morning a delegation of mayors of cantons of Ecuador interested in knowing the model of tourism in our area.

The representatives of the South were accompanied by the Councillor for Development Cooperation of the Municipality of Murcia, Alicia Barquero, which supports the program consistory tourism has brought to our region to the delegation.

Specifically, visited our town CODECH President - Corporate Development of the Territories of the River Basins and Chimbo Chanchan (Ecuador) (the mayor of Canton Pallatanga, Eduardo Moreno CODECH manager, Jorge Ivan Delgado , the local project coordinator CODECH, Roberto Carlos Herrera, and the engineer and mayor of Ccntón Colta, Hermel Tayupanda).

The aim of the visit, which is touring with major tourism development agencies in the region, is to launch a consortium of tourism in the province of Chimborazo (Ecuador), which is an area inhabited by indigenous communities rich in natural resources.

This project is part of Municipia initiative, a program that performs the Spanish International Cooperation Agency (AECI), the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), the Confederation of Funds for Cooperation and Solidarity (CONFOCOS) and the Ministry Public Administration (MAP), with the cooperation of the City of Murcia, to promote and strengthen local and municipal world in all the countries where cooperation.
