End of Employment Workshop "Cerro del Castillo II" with the presentation of diplomas to students who have participated in it (12/12/2011)

The hall of the local consistory this morning has been the venue for the presentation of diplomas to students who have participated Employment Workshop "Castillo II Zero."

The event was attended by the mayor, Fernando Alfonso Morales Ceron and director of the SEF, and Councilman Gines Martinez Employment, Sebastian Moreno.

Employment Workshops are included in measures to support job creation and are configured as a mixed employment and training for unemployed twenty-five or more years.

The student workers acquire vocational and work experience through the execution of works or public utility or social interest related to new sources of employment, allowing subsequent job placement both for others and through start-ups or social economy.

Employment Workshop "CASTLE HILL II" was launched on December 13, 2010 and ends on December 12, 2011.

It was conducted in 16 students, of which 8 have been in the Archaeology Workshop, and 8 in the Garden Workshop also have had a monitor for each specialty and a director to coordinate all activities undertaken.

It has been funded by the Regional Employment Service and Training (SEF), for a total of 345,624.96 euros.

In addition, the City has made a contribution of over € 25,000 to carry out this project.

During this time they have pursued the following objectives:

Improve the employability of students - thereby facilitating their subsequent workers in the labor market integration.

Acquiring vocational training and work experience performing work or services required of public utility or social interest, namely:

To continue with the excavation, preparation, and intervention on the existing settlement in the archaeological site of Cerro de Las Palera.

Study and design work, site preparation, installation of irrigation systems, planting and species replacement and maintenance and improvement of public gardens of "The Palm", "Paco Rabal" and "Calvary".

Provide basic training to those working students who have not attained the objectives of compulsory secondary education and strengthen the knowledge of which if achieved.

Provide them with a vocational guidance and training in business management, risk prevention and informatics to contribute to their employability both for others and through self-employment projects.

Establish contacts with local companies to facilitate the future employability of workers trained in the workshop.

Employment Workshop Cerro del Castillo in the second phase (2010-2011) has aimed to continue the excavation, preparation, and intervention on the existing settlement in the archaeological site of Cerro de Las Palera.

This workshop was carried out during 2010/11 has continued with the work carried out in Phase I and that targeted the square fort and its surroundings.

The continuity of this important work to restore the property to its value and knowledge has been aimed at expanding the area of ​​excavation to the east of the town, of paramount importance considering the new findings that have complemented the fort area and of which we are aware through the ceramic surface structures and collected in the surveys and work conducted in the area.

Ancillary works have been, as in the I phase, the development of clean-up, inventory, cataloging and restoration of recovered materials (ceramics, bone, glass, paintings ....) During excavations or from other excavations but of great interest for understanding the history of Alhama

On the other hand it has acted in Paco Rabal gardens, palm groves and Calvary, if as in the various gardens of the population where it has been necessary.

The study was conducted and redesigned several areas of the gardens, the ground has been converted, renovated or installed irrigation, pruning, transplanted and planted a large number of trees, shrubs and plants.

Phytosanitary work has been done and paid, has risen removed stone walls, and beds etc. ..

These actions have given a new look to gardens, as in the case of Paco Rabal, were badly damaged.
