Civil Protection volunteers on Saturday held its annual dinner in which diplomas are delivered attesting to the age of 2, 5 or 10 years in service.
The mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Fernando Alfonso Morales Ceron, along with the Councillor for Civil Protection, Angela Eagle Sanchez were invited to dinner where he also attended the mayor of Sports, Cánovas M ª Dolores Blasco.
The more than forty members of Civil Protection displayed the great unity and friendship that hold between them.
In this sense, its president, Jose Antonio Lopez Canovas, pointed, proud of its volunteers, "when there is any situation that might be an emergency, the volunteers are called and quickly by our local, not even to call them."
Proof of this was the earthquake in Lorca when the volunteers themselves Alhama Civil Protection in depth have been used for months to help Lorca.
Indeed, in appreciation of this work, the mayor and the councilor surprise given a diploma to each of the 21 service members who have been working Alhama selflessly in the aid.
With this, the City Council of Alhama, through the mayor and the councilor of the area, wanted to highlight the work of these alhameños.
In this same line of work and selfless help to others, the Civil Defence volunteers when they had not hit the City Council asked them to manage the distribution of food, donated to the Red Cross, among the most needy families in the municipality, a task that play from the month of October 2011.
These volunteers want to recognize the work of people who, without being members of Civil Protection, help in this task, and the distinguished mayor of Sports, Maria Dolores Cánovas that, personally, help from time to time in food preparation .

Other awards of recognition to the greatest number of services rendered in Civil Protection landed in the hands of Ana Belén García Cánovas and Joseph Thomas Cutillas Gomariz, both volunteer service and Regina Lopez Aledo, although not a member of Civil Protection actively collaborates with them.
Moreover, the mayor of Civil Protection, Angela Sanchez, was surprised by volunteers who wanted to thank you for your willingness and support to civil protection in these few months he has as a delegate of the area.
