On Saturday March 10th the town was the meeting place of over 2,000 Scouts from across the region enjoyed a full day of activities and XXXI Regional Festival of Song Scout held in Alhama for the third time in its history.
The festival began at three in the afternoon in a municipal auditorium filled to overflowing.
Nine groups of Scouts competed in different parts of the region that demonstrated the impressive work done with children.
After deliberation the jury of alhameños involved in music and the scout of Alhama, the group Valle de Leiva, who organized the event, gave the four prizes.
Thus, the first prize for Best Song went to the Watchtower group, who represent the next year to scout the region in Granada.
We followed the scout group of St. George with the second best song.
In third place was the group of Carmen with the third best song.
Finally, presented the award to the most animated group Imhlala Panza.
The jury was composed of William Paqui, Rafael Medina, Juan Romero and Julian Garcia.
Youth Councillor, Carmen Maria Rodriguez, presented the second prize while the mayor, Fernando Alfonso Ceron, presented the first prize.
