The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, closed today with the Mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Fernando Alfonso Ceron, the 45th edition of the exhibition 'table grapes and Guadalentín Lower agricultural products', which met this week in the House of Culture in the municipality an extensive exhibition with more than 300 varieties of fruits and vegetables.
Cerdá stressed that agriculture represents "an important social and economic value" for the town.
He stressed the need to incorporate research sector "to complement traditional varieties with new ones."
He also stated that agricultural income "must come from the market, not subsidies", so said that "Europe must articulate the necessary measures to achieve this."
