The City Council of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Works and Services, reports that, as expected, the construction of the new treatment plant of El Berro continues its planned course, keeping the initial terms and will be built to the summer.
The new treatment plant is designed to serve a population equivalent of 1,200 inhabitants (now the district has a population of 240 inhabitants) and will have a treatment capacity of 240 cubic meters per day.
This infrastructure has all the environmental protection measures.
It stands the tertiary treatment system that improves filtration and disinfection process wastewater treatment.
As a result 98% of the pollution load is removed.
The investment of 689,000 euros, has a 80% funding from the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
