On Wednesday, March 6, 2013 there was a working day and councilors municipal technicians involved in developing the Local Plan for the Prevention of Drug Addiction in the conference room of the Women's Business Incubator.
Chaired by the Health Councillor Ana Fernandez Bastida, was attended by Juan Jimenez Roset responsible for the Technical Coordination Unit for Drug Dependence of the Health and technicians from the same door and Andres Alcaraz Consuelo.
The head of the Regional Plan for the Prevention of Drug Addiction, stressing the importance of these plans, made public the municipality data that demonstrate the need and importance of the local plan.
The figures in Alhama de Murcia, according to statistics compiled by the regional body, are:
In young:
1,200 young people between 14 and 18 have ever used alcohol.
750 young people have ever smoked.
360 young people have used cannabis.
In adults:
2000 adults daily drink alcohol.
13,670 have consumed alcohol on occasion.
2050 adults are at risk for alcoholism.
1867 have ever used cocaine.
280 regular cocaine users.
5,000 have ever used cannabis.
200 commonly consumed cannabis.
Positions manifest data, were the basis for the development of the local plan.
After the experiences and studies presented at the meeting, it became clear the bases that the local plan should be looking for its full effectiveness.
In this sense, there was talk of planning or mitigate actions that seek personal or social circumstances that cause dependence substance use, alternative entertainment, social awareness initiatives, rules preventing consumption among minors.
It also clarified the need to influence the population at greatest risk.
Was responsible for the area, Ana Fernandez Bastida, who called on those present to a new job next meeting on March 20 to start the development of the draft local plan with the creation of working groups in the areas: education, family, Community, labor, health and safety (police).
