Several months ago, Antonio Cazorla, owner of a drum mixer used for the manufacture of vulcanized footwear in the municipality, the council decided to donate it to be exposed somewhere in the town.
The council, decided to accept the donation and put it in expanding our industrial park, being very close to the industry, after completion of works.
The extension works were inaugurated last week by the Minister for Universities and Enterprise, José Ballesta and already exposed to view of all those entering the estate through the avenue of Italy.
With this old machine, you want to pay homage to the footwear industry Vulcanized Alhama, which was so important in the town in the 70's and 80's and unfortunately went into decline in the 90s, mainly due to the entry into our country of shoes from Asian countries with prices our business could not compete.
The ceremony of unveiling the plaque was present alhameño industrialist family, and the Minister of Industry and the Mayor of Alhama.
We want to thank this family, the donation of the mixing cylinder, which will serve as a tribute and remembrance to the footwear industry alhameña.
