The Ministry of Public Works and Planning handle the construction project of a roundabout to improve the connection between Alhama de Murcia, from the RM-2, which connects the town with the Campo de Cartagena, with the A-7, towards the city of Murcia.
This was proposed this week the Director of Roads, José Guijarro, the mayor of this municipality, Fernando Alfonso Ceron, during a meeting held at the headquarters of the Ministry.
José Guijarro explained that "for security reasons, the left turn that formerly had the link for the traffic coming from the direction of Murcia Alhama was removed with the commissioning of the new highway autonomic RM-2".
"By modifying the link that will perform the Highways Agency, through the construction of a roundabout, will facilitate the incorporation of the A-7, heading to the capital, to vehicles from Alhama de Murcia," he added the director.
The regional head of Highways said the city of Alhama de Murcia, which has been demanding this enhancement for your municipality, gave its approval to the proposal of the department to build a roundabout on the side of the highway that goes to the Campo de Cartagena .
"The advantage of this solution is that it would cost a tenth of the budget of the proposal that is shuffled before, which would be reduced to approximately 300,000 euros," said José Guijarro.
The Director of Roads said the new roundabout will facilitate both the mobility of citizens as the output of the large number of heavy vehicles from the municipal industry.
