The Director General of Education Centres of the Ministry of Education, Maria Dolores Valcárcel, visited the town on the 13th and held a meeting with the mayor, Fernando Alfonso Ceron well as the Councillor for Education, Ana Fernández.
The meeting, prior to a meeting with the directors of the schools in the town, served, among other things, for municipal representatives would identify education needs of the locality.
Specifically, they returned to claim the need to begin construction of the new building for the IES Valle de Leiva.
After that first meeting, the representatives of the government initiated a meeting with the directors of the schools in the municipality.
This meeting represented one of the first meetings to prepare the enrollment period for the course 2014/2015 which starts on March 24.
At this first meeting it became clear that this year there will be problems of schooling and will be on March 27 when the Schooling Commission is constituted.
