The City Council of Alhama de Murcia has signed an agreement with the Association of Domestic Oil Region of Murcia (AERTAMUR), leading to the installation of more than ten new oil recycling containers and changing existing new ones most modern and secure as well as a much more aesthetic design.
The Mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Alfonso Ceron Fernando Morales, accompanied by the mayor of the Environment, Diego Huertas, signed the agreement with Jose Francisco Padilla, general coordinator of AERTAMUR.
The mayor pointed to the need to care for and respect the environment.
In this regard, he recalled that in the town all kinds of containers are installed, so, although there is more recycling, asking neighbors a greater awareness.
"Recycling not only care for our environment, but also we promote the creation of jobs," he noted.
The head of the local Consistory Environment highlighted the importance of recycling has since "one liter of oil pollutes 1,000 liters of water."
Also highlighted the significant expense involved in waste water treatment to remove oil.
For his part, Padilla claimed that the association he represents has tried to "work with the municipality to solve the problem of used oil containers with safer and more attractive design."

The oil is collected from container ships to an end manager making it biodiesel fuel less harmful to the environment because it causes less emissions.
The collection of these containers every 15 days, a period that will be adapted to the needs is, at present.
