Another dog also suffered injuries after falling into the trap, although he was only a few hours trapped
Apparently, it all started by a local conflict
The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed the operation 'TRAP' to clarify several episodes of animal abuse against dogs in Alhama de Murcia, which has resulted in the charging of a person for an offense relating to the protection of domestic animals and seizure of stocks allegedly used by the accused against the dogs.
Late last August, a neighbor of Alhama de Murcia came to the knowledge of the Service for the Protection of Nature (SEPRONA) Civil Guard, following a complaint that two of his dogs had been injured by placing a trap game in the vicinity of your home.
One of the dogs was arrested two days in the stocks, which caused him injury in the left forelimb consisting of fractured phalanges and tissue necrosis, for which he had to amputate part of the leg.
The other dog that fell into the trap suffered serious injuries, but in this case less severe than the last, because he was only a lit hours.
Effective SEPRONA, in the complaint received, initiated the investigation into the facts that, shortly after, paid off in finding a neighbor of the owner of the dogs had allegedly placed the trap on a farm illegally, by which, after obtaining all necessary evidence, proceeded to the imputation of this Spanish 75-year resident of Alhama de Murcia, suspicion of crime on the protection of pets.
The policemen found and seized the stocks used illegally hunting, which together with the proceedings initiated have been made available to the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Totana (Murcia).
Conflict neighborhood
The investigation shows that the accused was now looking for days how dogs sneaked her neighbor in his property and caused damage to the garden hose and a pool of their own.
To "fix" the damage he caused the animals, arranged a trap game in which he was caught one of the dogs, and then released the other day.
Soon after he fell into the trap of other dogs of his neighbor, who was in it for a few hours.
The Law on Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, in its section on procedures for the capture or killing of animals and modes, prohibits the use of mass or indiscriminate means such as traps and traps traps.
The offense on the protection of domestic animals
Animal abuse is enshrined in the Criminal Code, which defines it as the fact unjustifiably mistreating pets or tamed by any means or process, causing death or causing them injury which severely damage your health, and is punishable three months to one year imprisonment and disqualification of one to three years for the exercise of a profession, trade or business that has a connection with animals.
