The People's Party of Alhama de Murcia welcomes the proposal of Councillor for Agriculture adopted unanimously at the last plenary session, by which it supports farmers and producers affected by the veto of Russia exports, urging the Government of the Region the Government of Spain and the European Commission to products such as cantaloupe, watermelon, broccoli, lettuce and citrus are included in the list of products eligible for aid from the European Union, in order to offset the effects negatives produced by this veto, and that is made available to affected countries sufficient economic performances starting to use it to support the products concerned.
The ban imposed by the Russian Federation to the EU exports is seriously harming producers of fruit and vegetables from all over the country and especially to the Region of Murcia, for his great dependence on sales of its products in abroad, with Russia one of the recipient countries.
Overall, the impact of agricultural products have been in the case of Spain is estimated at 338 million euros.
We are pleased that the Opposition groups join in this proposal in defense of our farmers, even though they had the nerve to blame the PP and European institutions that has occurred this veto.
From our party thought that our farmers can not afford the duck and our food products can not be a bargaining chip to such a policy crisis.
So a proposal by the Department of Agriculture, which was first approved by the Governing Board and its importance was also brought to the plenary of the Corporation to be ratified by all local groups was prepared.
Another important point to consider was that relating to the granting of occupation of a parcel of industrial park Las Salinas, for the construction and operation of a biogas plant agribusiness, whose physical implementation project will involve an investment of almost EUR 2 million and it will be quite beneficial for both the industrial park, and for our City.
The Tenders Committee has already raised its proposal with the selection of the company to obtain this concession, which perform an activity, we can consider the public interest, as a renewable energy facility that will treat biodegradable waste, sewage sludge, municipal solid waste, agricultural waste and livestock, etc., solving the problem that the companies face polygon to eliminate this waste, in addition to be able to count on the energy produced by this plant, not to mention that since environmental point of view will be a great improvement to the air pollution.
Again sorry that opposition groups not to support this project, casting serious doubts on it and the activities of the Department of Planning, in our opinion, unfounded.
