Ecologists in Action of the Murcia Region has reacted to the shocking news of European approval for public funding of the proposed Paramount Theme Park in Murcia.
The organization has expressed surprise, as the Paramount project is undergoing prosecution Dispute initiated by the environmental organization, by the fact that 21% of the land in this project are part of the Regional Park Protected Natural Area Valley and Carrascoy.
A circumstance to which the fact that the person who leads the project, Jesús Samper, President Premursa Theme Park SA, is accused for the alleged crimes of incitement to breach of trust, money laundering and tax fraud, joins in the UMBRA case, investigating alleged corruption produced urban sprawl north of the city of Murcia.
Ecologists in Action believes unheard precisely at a time when they are coming to light numerous cases of political corruption, it is intended to approve the release of a hefty amount of public money to a project of such dubious economics, as has begun a process court for invading a Natural Protected Area (which could end up with a sentence to make the project unviable), and being the president of the promoter an absorbed person on trial for alleged corruption linked to urban development.
Ecologists in Action requires the President Garre not follow the trail of reckless decisions of his predecessor in office, and paralyze all Paramount handling the project, at least until the open court proceedings are resolved, ie the administrative litigation against the project and prosecution of the case Umbra.
