The PP mayor, Alfonso F. Ceron, attempted to unilaterally renew last summer with the concessionaire contract until 2038, which rejected the Legal Council of the Region of Murcia
Our Secretary General and PSOE candidate for Mayor of Alhama, Conesa Diego, defended the proposals and commitments it has launched since becoming General Secretary of the party, two years ago, for empowering activists, supporters and the general public .
Conesa says you have to go a step further to ensure maximum transparency and public participation in the management of public resources.
He recalled that a few months before the elections, we have to renew the contract of garbage, and in 2019 the municipal water service.
In August 2013, the popular mayor of Alhama, F. Alfonso Ceron, submitted a proposal to the water company Socamex, SAU to unilaterally renew the contract, which ends in 2019, for another 19 years, in exchange for doing some work in the municipality amounting to 4.6 million euros, and run mostly in 2014 and 2015, the eve of the municipal elections.
He also reported no involvement nor did the opposition groups in the proposal.
This policy initiative of the Mayor was rejected by the Legal Council of the Region of Murcia, following consultation of July 2014 in which it is considered inappropriate and unjustified.
The socialist leader, Diego Conesa, defends the public water management from its expiration in 2019, noting "the water belongs to everyone and should be publicly managed a public good."
Proposes to open an intense public debate to decide between all how well you manage that gives us life, history, name and health.
"That democracy is done by consulting the people," he argues.
