The Saladares Guadalentin SPAs were declared in 2001 for harboring two protected species, Stilt and Sandgrouse.
The measure adopted today will develop in the lagoons of Las Salinas de Alhama de Murcia various measures contained in a project for the long-term conservation of the species White-headed Duck, which is included in the European directive on conservation of species and listed as' in endangered '.
This wetland meets the numerical criteria for selection as an Important Bird Area scientifically credited his statement as SPAs by the number of pairs of White-headed Duck nesting in it.
