The water concessionaire accepts the proposal of the local government in its commitment to the municipal administration desjudicializar
Alhama Mayor met Friday with the directors of the company and its subsidiary Urbaser Socamex at the headquarters of the company in Madrid.
The purpose of the meeting was to agree on the payment of 720,000 euros, by a judgment which has to pay the council, derived from the non-application of higher water rates in 2008 and 2009.
The local government made a proposal to the company three weeks ago to allocate 50% of the payment of the debt to investments in the supply network.
On Thursday the Mayor held a first personal meeting with officials of Urbaser-Socamex to address this issue.
Today the parties have reached a framework agreement to be made public once signed, when the legal services of the company and the City consensuen the final text.
Under the agreement, the City of Alhama company will pay half the debt and the other half will go to improvements and investments in the water supply network in the next three years.
These improvements shall be determined by the municipal technical services.
The Mayor makes a very positive contribution to the company's predisposition to this agreement, which saves on the cost of water to the municipal coffers 360,000 euros valuation.
In the almost five months of legislature, the Council has identified the need to improve a part of the water supply network, therefore, the municipal government is committed to allocate, from within the regular budget, 360,000 additional euros investment in this network.
