The new project, smaller than the previous one, generated criticism and rejection by the educational community
The mayor of Alhama, Diego Conesa, conducted a press conference this morning by the Councillor for Education, Mariola Guevara, director of IES Valle de Leiva, Roberto Garcia, and the president of FAPA, Lali Mora.
Roberto Garcia described as "disappointing" the project, after a meeting with the director general of Department on 19 November.
Since the current direction of the institute indicate that it is smaller than the current center and does not cover their claims.
"We ask the Ministry an auditorium, five large classrooms more and seven departments to meet the needs we have, but whether it will accept or not."
Lali Mora, representative of AMPA Institute and FAPA explained harshly that "the project has been presented so we will not accept because it does not meet the requirements demanded. The classrooms are smaller, no auditorium, spaces for departments or attention to families, nor do we agree on two phases. "
Mora indicated that the two assemblies that have kept this issue AMPA and FAPA, have agreed that if the Council does not support the needs demanded, "Do not we move from where we are to move to a smaller, less building space ".
They pose, in which case an extension of the current center is made.
For its part, the Councillor for Education considers of the utmost urgency that "the Directorate General of Education Centres presentation of this project in the Plenary Hall is made, as was done in 2012, where the basic project was presented Valle de Leiva again. "
And he stated that they are waiting for the answer to that request.
"We know it's a smaller project only counts in 2016 with a budget of 1.5 million euros" so "even if such modifications are contemplated, they can not perform in the first phase of which they speak" highlighted Mariola Guevara.
Since the City would have asked the Director General to undertake, in an official document, to complete construction of the school in this legislature all the needs that are demanded from the center.
The Councillor explained that "we are waiting for that document, and we will have to suspend the referendum to give us an answer."
He added that it is conducting a newsletter for all the neighbors know the different locations that arise.
The Mayor reported that he has met with the General Director of Department, the Minister and the President of the Autonomous Community "to claim that the institute is done in this term and cover all the needs that has asked the school management and the FAPA ".
Conesa clarified that "at the meeting held in November in the Council we are committed to giving the location information within a month, so we set the date for the consultation on 22 December. To date we have all data from the region and we, institutional loyalty, seriousness and rigor, postpone the holding of the inquiry until the institute is present and the commitment that they will consider the claims of the community assume educational ".
