The councilman of Social Services, Felipe Garcia, met this past week with the manager of the IMAS (Instituto Murciano Social Action), Miguel Angel Miranda.
At the meeting, Councillor ferried several requests.
The most important, innovative, are two.
One, that the current Municipal Psychosocial Care Center can convert into day center for people with mental illness and to improve the service it provides.
It signed a collaboration agreement between the Autonomous Community and the City, in a similar terms to the Day Centre elderly and people with intellectual disabilities, with the possibilities offered by the Law to Promote Personal Autonomy and Care People Experiencing Unit, better known as Law Unit.
The other draft petition is to launch a cooperation agreement between the CARM and the City for the provision of home care, with the regulatory framework that Law Unit.
Alhama held since 1996, a home help service the last two years financed exclusively by the City.
The summer of 2014 the Local Government Board approved the same proposal, which did not rule on that point the Community.
From the Instituto Murciano Social Action, the manager indicated that budgets do not include a budget for the proposed agreement, although the intention is to implement that aid dependency in all municipalities in the region.
The councilman of Social Services asked the IMAS expand the number of places in day centers Alhama to reduce waiting lists.
The parties were emplaced to work on this proposal in mid-January 2016.
For the municipality it is essential to reach agreements on these matters, as it is recognized in the Law Unit and aims to meet the needs of the residents of Alhama subjective right.
Therefore they are looking for responsibility among the various authorities to assist people who need it most: neighbors with mental illness, disability and dependents.
