The City of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Culture, this year launched a program of cultural tours.
In this initial phase is scheduled trips Vélez Blanco in late 2007, coinciding with the 500th anniversary of the creation of the Marquis of Vélez, in the month of January with the Feast of Barranda crews, in February was After the trip to Orihuela monumental and literary readings of poems by Miguel Hernandez.
Finally, we made trips to Calasparra in its jubilee year and a trip to Madrid to visit the museums of El Prado and the Thyssen-Bornemisza, coinciding with the Great Exhibition of Goya and May 2 on the anniversary of the War Independence.
For its part, the mayor of Culture, Jesus Basauri, expressed his satisfaction with the great success of this program, which involved nearly four hundred people of all ages and in which travel demand has always far surpassed existing places.
All this encourages the Department to proceed with the proposal that will target the most important cultural events are scheduled in our region and in Spain.
Among the proposals are under consideration for the coming months, is working on planning a trip to the Museo del Teatro Romano de Cartagena and a visit to the Exhibition of Saavedra Fajardo in Murcia.
