Alhama City Council, through the Department of Social Policy in collaboration with local institutions, has launched the campaign habitual truancy prevention.

He was accompanied by the directors of two local schools, Adolfo Benito, the Miguel Hernández and Roberto García, del Valle de Leiva.
The mayor stressed that the initiative came to complement the actions already being undertaken through the figure of Police Tutor.
Clarified that the campaign "aims, the awareness of parents and especially children, about the importance of not dropping out and continue regularly attending the schools because it is a basis for achieving social integration and good prospects for the student. "
At the mercy of this project we have initiated a series of activities such as sending letters to all parents of secondary school students at the beginning of the school year informing them of the obligation to attend school and the responsibility of parents to be so .

Also, the guys will send them a pen and a signal for reading books with messages encouraging them to ensure their training.
Moreover, as a new feature this year will be social workers of the institutes that distribute the material and in turn give a little talk, stressing the obligation and the social and personal need to continue attending class.
Fina Garcia stressed that "the commitment must be unanimous as the City, as part of the educational community, especially through the family environment so that students can exercise their rights and fulfill their duties in education ".

For its part, Adolfo Benito, director of IES Miguel Hernández, said that thanks to the initiatives undertaken to prevent truancy last year, at its center, only one or two students could be classified as truants.
He highlighted the benefits of implementation of the Police Tutor, so he thanked the City Council its implementation.
Roberto Garcia, director of IES Valle de Leiva, was on the same terms, also highlighting the role of Tutor Police and mentioned other initiatives such as not closing the doors of schools shortly after the buzzer allowing entry, students they entered but then impose the appropriate punishment.
Also enunciated a number of actions proposed by the School Board and the creation of an ordinance on truancy or implementation, from January, a program with alternative measures to the expulsion.
Garcia wanted to take this opportunity to ask the City Council the creation of a new center for the Valle de Leiva that accommodates other offers training as in the IES Miguel Hernández.
