The City of Alhama de Murcia through the Department of Social Policy starts Psychosocial Care service.
To report new service local mayor, Juan Romero, along with the councilman of Social Policy, Fina García, appeared before the media.
This service is intended for all persons residing in Alhama and suffering from any mental illness.
The service was created due to the significant rise in cases of this type of pathology to arrive at the Social Services Centre of the municipality.
The range of mental illness is very broad and some among them are like, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
The objectives set the service to develop personal and social autonomy of these people, prevent psychological distress and to support community integration.
The recipients are as noted above persons diagnosed with mental illness and their families.
Within this service is planning to conduct psychosocial intervention such as counseling, emotional therapy, cognitive stimulation and social skills.
Also occupational activities such as workshops of all kinds and of course, support families by providing advice and guidance, and activities of leisure and sporting or cultural.
This service is located in the headquarters of the Fundación Francisco Munuera kindly local has given way to City Hall.
