The local mayor, Juan Romero Canovas, and the Councillor for Culture and Heritage, Jesus Basauri, were present at the presentation of the book "The Areas of Archaeological Work in the Region of Murcia, chaired by the Director of the Institute Youth, Veronica Lopez, and the Director General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, which took place yesterday, Thursday 18 December, in Murcia.
This is a work that reflects the actions taken by archaeologists and volunteers at six sites in the region.
The ceremony was also attended by the director of the excavations of the City Work Camp in Alhama de Murcia, José Baños and the coordinator of the book, José Antonio Martínez López.
This book, besides being an important disclosure tool on archaeological activities have been conducted in six sites of Murcia, is a tribute to the work of young volunteers who have participated in the various fields.
It has done digging, recovery and collection of information in the castle of Alhama de Murcia, in the castle of Nogalte in Puerto Lumbreras in the Roman town of Mula Villaricos, at the site of Cerro de las Fuentes Archivel, Caravaca de la Cruz, in the desert of Medina Siyasa of Cieza and field sites and cup in the town of Arabilejo located in the Monte Arabi, in Yecla.
The work of these fields of work, is to be found in this work has been done by the archaeologists who took part in the excavations.
The book is divided into six chapters, each devoted to these fields.
The work of which 1,000 copies have been published, and a budget of 11,000 euros, was financed by the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage.
10,000 copies will be printed and has a budget of 11,000 euros.
