The City of Alhama de Murcia reports that next Saturday, February 21, will be done in the town an awareness campaign about the benefits of organic farming for farmers in Alhama.
This campaign will be developed in the Circle of Worker Instructions from 9.30.
The campaign is framed in a larger project called AEFER (Ecological Agriculture and Rural Employment Source) that engages the Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture (SEAE) in 5 regions of the country and funded by the Foundation for Biodiversity.
The campaign will consist of a talk / lecture about two hours, about the benefits and opportunities of organic agriculture to health, environment and rural development and the development of a round table involving farmers local organic which will discuss their experiences as such.
After the talk, we will organize a visit for those interested in organic production two orchards where we can see practical examples of organic crop management.
This campaign also seeks to highlight the possibilities of access to a free advisory service and assistance in converting to organic led to some 60 conventional farmers of the region as one of the main project AEFER
