Mayos Rock Festival III - The self-produced rock festival (27/04/2009)

The Mayos Rock Festival was born in 2007, is located in the Fiesta de Los Mayos de Alhama de Murcia, in response to the difficulty of the rock bands to break through the large, well-established and repetitive rock festivals in Spanish.

With the support of the City of Alhama de Murcia and organization of Franant Productions, opened a new window on the proposals of the punk rock independent state, resulting in the first edition, with very few resources, a large poster and a warm reception public.

In 2008 the organization passed into the hands of Nomads in Action, a newly formed company comprised of experienced staff, who opted for the festival in one of the worst moments in the music industry in all areas.

Date coinciding with the festival in Viña Rock SOS 4.8 Albacete and Murcia, the bet was risky, but got a great reception in the Murcia region, generating a significant appeal to young people who chose to discard the other festivals high price, approaching it at a reasonable price [ see story I ] [ see article II ].

In 2009, tired of hearing talk about the crisis, the festival organizers decided to wring their brains to find new alternatives to the hackneyed channels of live music.

Many rock bands, to the negative and exploitation suffered by the record companies and publishers have decided autoproducer his records, turning to the Spanish music market.

Have been directly responsible for the entire recording process, having control over their creations, giving headlong into absolute control of the audience and listening channels by a few groups.

This third edition of the Mayos Rock Festival has emerged as a new space for self-produced rock, offering to groups that have chosen for themselves a place to show the public what they do.

Repeat the same place in the 2008 edition, the Football Field Guadalentín in Alhama de Murcia.

The entry has the modest price of 8 euros in advance and 15 euros at the box office.

The advance sale is made in Ticketing Office, the Office de Tourisme de Alhama de Murcia, Fraggle Rock Bar (Totana), Records Traffic (Murcia), Discos Comix (Murcia), Pop Music Albums (Lorca), Discos Carrots (Cartagena) Vinoteca The Ford (Jumilla).

As always, the Friends of the Saharawi people of Alhama de Murcia are welcome at the festival, bringing a craft store Sahara to raise funds.
