On Tuesday, September 8, was held in Murcia the opening of the XLII edition Folklore Festival which this year has involved the City of Alhama de Murcia, which promoted the festival of Los Mayos through the traditional parade of Malvariche .
This festival began in the Plaza de Santo Domingo, where he was exposed on May 1 with a flag raising ceremony where the mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Juan Romero Canovas, he was chosen to hoist the flag of peace with the mayor of Murcia .
This was followed by the lighting of the Torch of Friendship which marked the start the parade of the groups participating in the festival, in which several corremayos who traveled to Murcia, danced to traditional themes while Malvariche distributed brochures on the Feast of the Mayos throughout the route of that parade was: Plaza de Santo Domingo, Tatters street, Plaza de la Cruz, Salzillo Street, Plaza Belluga and Glorieta.
