Coinciding with the start of the school year, we observed that education remains one of the forgotten in the budgets of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
The budgetary allocations for education in aid for the purchase of books, does not reach all children.
Moreover, public administrations must commit access to free education and materials used by the students, necessary to comply with constitutional provisions.
In this situation, the municipalities have to bear the costs and inappropriate skills to equip schools for better facilities, services and programs.
One year, the City of Alhama, has called for aid to the purchase of textbooks, in order to help alleviate the economic situation facing many households in the context of the current economic crisis.
However, we believe that is not achieved all families benefit equally.
Thus, appealing to the principle of solidarity in these times of crisis, we believe appropriate to make a greater effort in social policies to be carried out any public authority.
We need to generate resources for families in unemployment or lower income.
For all these reasons, this group, concerned about the welfare and improvement of quality of life of our citizens, proposes that the Municipal Council of the City Council the adoption of the following agreements:
FIRST: Make a call for supplementary grants, aid to 100% of expenses in respect of the purchase of textbooks and school supplies for families with fewer economic resources or unemployed (students enrolled in Early Childhood Education Primary and Secondary Education).
Excluding recipients of aid from other public or private entities, the amount available completely free.
According scale fixed income section of the Municipal Nursery School.
SECOND: To urge the Autonomous Community of Murcia, the full gratuity of public education.
THIRD: Order of the political forces that shape the city council, their commitment and adherence to the initiative presented in this motion for review and approval.
