On November 21 thousand farmers marched in the streets of the capital of Spain to seek solutions to the crisis in the sector.
Under the theme "The field is ruined, Speak Out" agricultural organizations, such as COAG and UPA made that call.
From our town moved 170 people among which was the general secretary of the Socialist José alhameños Swords, and Antonio Cerón municipal policy as secretary of the group of Alhama.
The assessment we do from the PSOE in Alhama is positive and we are confident that the nation's president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, has taken note of the demands of industry and seize the presidency of the European community to initiate measures to help agriculture to be even more competitive and to improve the economy of a very important sector in job creation in our region.
The responsibility for the control of agricultural interests goes through all administrations, from the European community, central government and local councils, not to mention the regional government who has transferred much of the powers of the sector, since the socialist grouping Alhama de Murcia are convinced that with everyone's efforts will succeed, not only with the move to Madrid, but with the daily work to support an industry with obvious problems of all kinds.
