The celebration of the holiday Alhama dates back to 1558, when residents of the village vowed to keep the feast of St. Lazarus as patron of the town.
This year, the City has undertaken the traditional Mass and the Procession of the new image of Saint Lazarus, by Galo Conesa, which will be located in the new chapel of the Funeral of the city.
The celebration takes place in a religious climate of sober character where citizens attend alhameños to worship their patron.
The day began with a meeting of Children's Choirs Christmas this year has had the participation of the Scola Cantorum de Molina de Segura, the Colegio Santa Maria de Gracia de Murcia and CP Antonio Machado de Alhama de Murcia.
