The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, attended today the inauguration of the exhibition 'Competition of Ideas for the Theatre Municipal Auditorium, "a show that hosts the 97 papers presented to draft the blueprint for the future Auditorium Theatre Alhama de Murcia .

Involving nearly one hundred works, Navarro said, "confirms that the region is a focus for development opportunities in many fields and, in this case in particular, promotes the image of the future of our people through a modern and functional building, integrated into the urban fabric of the municipality. The future campus will have a capacity of over 600 spectators and was built in the Parque de La Cubana, opposite the Town Hall and near the Casa de la Cultura and the Market.
Covering an area of 2,500 square meters, the building will host theatrical performances, musical performances, lectures or other cultural event.
The edition of this contest of ideas has had the participation of projects from all over Spain, to perform a work which will exhibit hall, cafeteria, dressing rooms, projection room and a multipurpose room, among others.
The investment for the writing of this project is 232,289 euros and will be entirely funded by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, within the local government subsidies for the development of actions in terms of architecture, as set out in an agreement between the Community and the City.
"This action," said Navarro-will respond to social demands of the municipality regarding the need for a conditioned space to host the activities stemming from the cultural activities of Alhama.
The future Teatro Municipal Auditorium is designed to be the cultural center of the town, which will host a diverse range of events of every kind and aimed at all audiences, so it covers all residents, apart from being a point of attraction for tourism. "
The show opened a journey through the proposals submitted to the contest of ideas, with the presence of the work awarded the second prize of 5,000 euros, entitled 'Black Box' by Santiago Romero and Sonia Maria branches.
The third prize of 3,000 euros, went to work 'The Golden Hall of Alhama', a work of Pedro Colón de Carvajal, Paul and Rachel Carballal Buj.
In addition, the works '+ Park', 'castanets', 'Bambalinón' and 'Continuity' received a special mention and a diploma.
