This past weekend was held at Alhama de Murcia: Patron of the Scout San Jorge, which resulted in a weekend full of color, excitement and activities that have flooded the parks and gardens of this city.
From the hand of the Mayor of the city, José Espadas and the presence of the Director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Verónica López, Councillor for Youth of the City Council Maria Elena Marín and the President of Scouts de Murcia, José Antonio Nieto, was inaugurated the activity at 13:30, when they started the activities where more than 2,500 scouts, children and youths between 6 and 21 years took the town of Alhama with workshops games and dances.
The kids also enjoyed once in the camp of a great concert by tribal groups and the band are Leyva.
The activity has developed well over the weekend without incident.
The event was organized Scout group Valle de Leyva de Alhama, framed in the acts of its 40 anniversary, supported by the city of Alhama through the Youth Council.
And as the finale for the activity the joy of having overcome the challenge to meet the objective of trying to beat the Guinness record for "The Largest Collection of clothes in 24 hours", exceeding 1000 kilos of clothes, which has managed to collect 6,880 kilos clothes, an amount far than expected and will help to address some needs of the population with fewer resources.
